Meet the MacPac

Camden is a six year old boy who loves his two brothers, sister, mom, dad and all his family very much. He is a typical boy that loves playing video games, doing anything creative or playing with his siblings.   He dreams of being a baseball player for the Texas Rangers when he grows up.  He is the definition of talkative and has never met a stranger. :D   He is full of questions, always eager to learn something new and figure out how things work.  His is incredibly intelligent and sharp and thinks far beyond his years in many ways, definitely an "old soul".  Camden has such a tender, caring and thoughtful heart.  Matthew and I are both veterans and Matthew is still actively serving in the U.S. Army.  I am a full time mom of four beautiful children and a photographer.  I live my life for my family.  We are very proud to be a military family!

This is a blog about our Journey as a family fighting a terrible, disabling, life-threatening disease.  This disease takes away one thing many of us take for granted, our physical strength.  It goes by the name of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  My goal in these blog posts is to tell my son's story while finding a new and deeper meaning of strength, inner strength.  Strength doesn't have to be measured by how big your muscles are, how fast you can run, how hard you can hit the ball, how far you can walk or ride a bike or if you can climb a flight of stairs.  Strength is fighting a battle together as a family and lending each of our own different strengths to Camden whenever his fails.  Strength is in our words, actions and in our souls.  It is knowing who you are and what you are capable of no matter what limits and fate you are given.  This blog is a tale of TRUE strength.  The strength of The Mac Pac.  Team McAlpine always fighting for Team Camden. <3
